This hilly region is both humid and fertile and is crossed by Mara and Talek Rivers full of crocodile and hippo. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons Maasai Mara has the greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa. There is a particularly dramatic spectacle between July to October, where in you can experience the annual migration of huge herds of Gnus and Zebras. This migration also invites the predators such as hyena, jackal, leopard and lion to closely follow these herds. Other optional activities include the Balloon Safari US$ 400 per person, Maasai Cultural Village visit - US$ 20 per person and a Nature Walk - US$ 20 per person. You will return to the camp for breakfast, check out and drive to Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon optional boat ride. Alternatively, a nature walk at Crescent Island is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot. The Island is a private game sanctuary, which is home to zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, Vervet monkeys, hare, genet cat, waterbuck and giraffe. Other options includes a visit to Hell's gate National Park for a walking, biking or hiking safari. You will stay at the Crayfish Camp Naivasha where you will have dinner and turn in for the night.
