Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu

You will depart Nairobi, in the morning, passing through the agricultural farmlands on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. You will arrive at the semi-arid and open savannah plains of Samburu Game Reserve in time for lunch at your favourite camp or lodge.  After lunch you will take off for your first exciting game drive in the park.Your safari also includes visits to neighboring reserves – Buffalo Springs features a volcanic landscape broken up by forest and marsh. At Shaba National Reserve you’ll find a greener landscape than Samburu with forests, woodlands and even the iconic Shaba Hill Volcano Combined. Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve

After an early morning breakfast you will embark on a full day of game viewing in the park. This park is known as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, the reticulated giraffe, the Gravy’s zebra gerenuk, beisa oryx and a host of big game including elephant and lion. There’s something about  Samburu reserve that our guests find calming, even in the midst of all the wildlife. Perhaps it’s the fact that Samburu is somewhat off the beaten path, so you’ll enjoy a wild game park with fewer tourists. And you’ll be treated to the sight of such unique creatures as Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk and the Somali Ostrich. Later in the evening you will return to your accommodations for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Samburu - Nairobi / departure

After breakfast, a short morning game drive can be conducted in Samburu reserve which offers a wide range of attractions. It is home to the Samburu tribe who are also pastoralists. Owasso Nyiro River which runs along the southern boundary is home to crocodile and hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day. Return to Nairobi with Lunch stop en-route arriving late in the afternoon. Drop off at your Pre-booked hotel for overnight or transfer to to the airport for your flight back home.
